LED Timers & Counters
LED timers and counters and production scoreboards are are digital indicators only. 7-segment displays are single color (red), come in a variety of sizes, and show only one thing. These are very simple devices and are usually connected to digital or analog output. Common digital indicators are:
Industrial Counters
Industrial counters are used to count and display the number of parts made on an assembly line. We don’t recommend using only counters because this only tells employees half of the story. However, it is a very cost-effective option and is easily wired into nearly any output.
Industrial LED Timers
When activated, an industrial timer will show either up-time or down-time. The most common application in a production environment is to show production employees how much time they have to finish an operation. This time is then set on the display and it will count up or down to show the time elapsed or remaining in a production cycle. Personal preference usually dictates if the timers count up or down.

BCD to 7-Segment
The function of a BCD to 7-segment decoder is to convert the logic states at the outputs of a BCD counter into a form which will drive a 7-segment display. The display shows the decimal numbers 0-9 and is easily understood.
Analog to Digital
Analog to digital devices measure things like speed, temperature, and weight. Large indicators allow production employees to easily see digital readouts from just about anywhere in their respective area.
Rate Over Time
Lean production uses TAKT time as the rate that a completed product needs to be finished in order to meet customer demand. Rate over time indicators allow the production line to adjust to TAKT time.
